Ambos Mundos

Spanish for ``both worlds`` Ambos Mundos is a collaborative effort between Tatuaje and Don Pepin cigars to produce an affordable, high quality cigar. The cigars are rolled with a slightly lower grade of tobacco than Tatuaje uses, which means they`re not as pretty as the ultra premium Tatuaje sticks but the flavor is still very enticing. Pete Johnson of Tatuaje said in a 2008 interview with Cigar Aficionado that he didn`t originally intend for Tatuaje to be as expensive as it is, but having the cigars made in Miami brought the price point up a lot. Ambos Mundos is a more affordable offering, and the cigars are made in Esteli, Nicaragua at Don Pepin`s factory. They come in either a Nicaraguan Habano or Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The cigars are very aromatic with notes of coffee, cedar, and a hefty dose of peppery spice. They are available in either a 5 inch by 50 ring gauge Robusto or a 6 by 50 Toro, and come in modestly decorated boxes of 25. Cigar Aficionado gave the Ambos Mundos Robusto Habano and Toro Habano 88 and 90 percent ratings respectively, proving that even an affordable stick can still be extremely high quality. These are undoubtedly some of the best smokes you can find for just over $4 per stick.
