I purchased a Little Buddy Clear lighter recently and the lighter doesn't want to light....it will light for a second and go out and I have to continue doing this five or six times then it will or maybe light and stay lit. I've tried adjusting the flame control back and forth but it doesn't seem to help. Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

There are two solutions that will generally fix any problems with torch lighters.

The first thing to consider is that sometimes air bubbles can get into the lighter. This will make the lighter light inconsistently. To correct this, the lighter just needs to be bled. To do this, all you need a small pin or screwdriver. Take the lighter and hold it upside down with the trigger down. Press the pin or screwdriver into the bottom of the lighter where you would normally refuel it--do this until all gas has escaped. Then refill you lighter with butane, holding it steady as to not let any air back in. The butane that comes out of the lighter will be very cold--it's a good idea to use a piece of cardboard as a shield while bleeding the lighter.

The other very simple solution is to look at the type of fuel being used. Jet flame lighters are the fighter planes of lighters. They require the highest quality butane.
