Liga Privada cigars were originally blended specifically for Steve Saka, president of Drew Estate. They are full-bodied Nicaraguan smokes that feature dark wrappers, sturdy binders, and spicy filler tobaccos.
The No. 9 blend was released to the public in 2007 in one size and featured a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, Brazilian binder, and filler from the Dominican Republic and Honduras. After overwhelming demand the cigars, Drew Estate expanded the line to four different sizes, adding a fifth in 2009.
The T52 blend features a stalk-cut Cuban-seed Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. "Stalk cut" refers to the tobacco plant being cut at the stem rather than being harvested leaf by leaf. The blend utilizes a Brazilian binder and several different filler tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. All in all, the T52 blend contains nine different types of tobacco.
Liga Privada cigars, whether you choose the classic No. 9 or the newer T52, are strong, complex, and meticulously constructed smokes. Even the most experienced cigar smokers will be wowed by the quality of these top shelf stogies.
