When we first heard about the Nub cigar, we had no idea what to expect. The well-known, respected Oliva Cigar Company came up with this idea, and it’s definitely something that we’ve never seen before. The concept of the cigar is that every cigar’s “sweet spot” lies within three to four inches into the cigar. No Nub cigar is longer than four inches, but the ring gauges on these tiny cigars are no less than a 54. Oliva has managed to pack as much tobacco as a Churchill, or Presidente cigar, into a four inch cigar. It’s an unreal concept, but it has managed to work. These Nub’s smoke as long as a Churchill, we promise. It took Oliva over three years to perfect the Nub and be happy with the result of their product. They knew that most cigar smokers were going to be skeptical and hesitant to try a three inch cigar, when they normally smoked something more than twice the size. The large ash cools the cigar as you smoke it, and the large ring gauge allows you to really be able to enjoy the complex flavors that the Nub has to offer.

The Nub is offered in three different wrapper shades, Habano, Cameroon and Connecticut. Each one of these has been received incredibly well by various publications, as well as many of our customers. Sam Leccia, the Oliva sales rep who originally thought up the idea, created a media blitz for the Nub and by the time it was released, we already had customers calling in wanting to get their hands on some. We found ourselves anticipating it’s arrival, to see if Oliva really had done something new that hadn’t been done before.

The Nub Habano is a full-bodied cigar that has a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper that is powerful, yet spicy. The binder and filler are made up of Nicaraguan tobacco as well. The Nub Habano is the most complex of the Nub cigars, and is for the smoker looking for an enjoyable, full-bodied robust smoke. The Nub Cameroon has the same Nicaraguan tobacco for the binder and filler, but employs a delicious African Cameroon wrapper. Featuring notes of cedar and coffee, the Nub Cameroon is the only Nub cigar line that has a box-pressed size (the 4 x 66 Torpedo). The Nub Connecticut has a creamy, mild, Ecuadorian grown Connecticut-seed wrapper. The Nub Connecticut is for the medium bodied smoker looking for something that won’t overpower you, but has many complex flavors.
