Maria Guerrero, the famous Spanish actress of the early 1900's, was an ideal choice for Altadis when they decided to create a new cigar for their well-established cigar repertoire. Maria Guerrero was a star of many plays, but was internationally recognized for her performances. She was also in such early 1900's black and white movies as: El Caballero Casarroja and Un Solo Corazón O Los Muertos Viven. Her husband, Fernando Díaz de Mendoza, began acting after his marriage to Maria Guerrero, who was a wealthy Spanish nobleman. He also stared in many of the same films as his spouse, as well as venturing out on his own creating a name for himself. Maria Guerrero and Fernando Díaz de Mendoza brought their son Carlos Díaz de Mendoza into the entertainment industry, and he starred in many successful films up to the 1960's when he died at the age of sixty two.
