BCP Attends 2013 Annual Cigar Trade Show

A few of us here at Best Cigar Prices had the pleasure of attending this year’s IPCPR show at the Sands Expo Center in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Seeing everyone in the industry under one roof is a pretty awesome sight to say the least. From the elaborate, beautifully designed booths to the endless amount of unique new products and not to mention some of the social events, this year’s show did not disappoint.

Alan Rubin of Alec Bradley with Mundial Cigars

Alec Bradley caught our attention almost as soon as we got off the plane. When we first arrived to the Venetian to check-in we ran into Sammy Phillips from Alec Bradley. Sammy told us all about how they had just sent the all-new Mundial into space. Yep, I said it… space. Alan Rubin, owner of Alec Bradley cigars, told us a little bit about the project. “We made history with these cigars,” Rubin explained. “We are the first company to launch cigars into space.” Mundial will be available in late September so check back with us to grab some of your own!

CLE had quite the selection at this year’s show. Walking into their booth was like walking into a candy store. The Wynwood Honduras Art Edition by CLE immediately caught our eyes. These cigars come in hand painted boxes, each featuring a different artist. The spirit of the Wynwood brand is captured perfectly in their tagline, “Celebrating the Artistry of Cigars.” While Asylum, Wynwood and Edgar Hoill Cigars were the main attraction

for CLE, another cigar was showcased at the show. Pura Soul by Robert Wright is a new cigar hand crafted in Esteli, Nicaragua. These full flavored smokes are a complex Nicaraguan puro that are smooth, rich and guaranteed to please.

George Rico’s American Puro

Gran Habano boasted some American pride with their all-American brand this year. Gran Habano’s very own George Rico released the American Puro, the first release from his new George Rico S.T.K. Miami line. Made in his factory in Miami, this all American boutique cigar is actually 100% American-made and includes tobaccos from Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Kentucky.

Though it was non-stop mayhem most days we did manage to get away a few nights and really enjoy everyone’s company. Alec Bradley Cigars hosted a pretty amazing roof-top party at the Palm’s that overlooked the entire city. Ashton Cigars held their annual dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Bar & Grill this year. During each course Ashton  provided guests with a different cigar. Among the cigars was their newest addition, the San Cristobal Revelation.  The Revelation features a beautiful Ecuador Sumatra wrapper along with a rich blend of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos that give off an earthy flavor with lovely notes of cedar, nuts and spice.

We worked hard at this year’s show trying to get our customers the best deals on the best cigars available. Our hard worked paid off and we were able to scoop up almost every new cigar released. We’re excited for you to try the new blends and look forward to hearing your feedback! Check out the new releases here!
