BCP News Brief – IPCPR Release Updates

With IPCPR just weeks away, the new stogie announcements have been coming out non-stop. Here are a couple of highlights that have surfaced over the last week or so:

My Father Cigars is one of the latest manufacturers to announce a new cigar that will be making its debut at this years trade show. La Duena, which translates to “female owner”, is a medium to full body blend featuring a binder and filler comprised of Connecticut Broadleaf and Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Garcias’ farm in Esteli, and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The cigar was created as a tribute to Janny Garcia, daughter of Don Pepin and a key player in the My Father Cigars legacy. La Duena is set for regular production and will be offered in 5 different sizes in boxes of 21 cigars.

A few days back reported that Victor Vitale’s Hammer + Sickle cigars will also enter IPCPR with a new release this year. The Hammer + Sickle Hermeritage has been described as a box-pressed cigar that will be available in three sizes:  5 x 52, 6 x 54, and 7 x 56. Additional information about the blend could not be found at this time, though the Hammer + Sickle website has a picture of the Hermeritage  band available, along with the phrase “Bred To Be Bold” and a contradictory release date of October 1rst, 2012. I guess we’ll just have to wait a couple weeks for more details.
