BCP News Brief – Wayne Suarez leaves Arturo Fuente Cigars
After more than 20 years at Arturo Fuente Cigars, longtime executive Wayne Suarez has left. Suarez, who first started working with Fuente in January of 1992, left on August 1st.
According to Cigar Aficionado, Suarez said he had no immediate future plans. “I’m going to take some time off,” said Suarez. “I’d like to thank the Fuente and Newman families for a great run.”
As an executive at Arturo Fuente cigars, Suarez oversaw all sales in the United States and often traveled the country to work directly with cigar retailers.
President of Arturo Fuente Cigars, Carlos Fuente Jr., said he was sad to see Suarez go. “I’m heartbroken, Wayne is my brother and he will always be my brother,” said Fuente Jr. “I will always wish him my best.”
Suarez left the industry but has not ruled out returning to the cigar business in the future. “It’s a great industry,” said Suarez. “I have a lot of great friends. Anything is possible.”
