BCP Pairing Sessions: #16: Fall Edition – One More Thing

BCP Pairing Session: #16: Fall Edition – One More Thing

Beverage: Belgian Pale Ales

Cigar: Classic Connecticuts

Eats: Slow Cooker Steak Fajitas

Why It Works: The last thing you want to do when serving any form of steak is distract your tastebuds with something super strong, that’s why the smooth hops of Belgian Pale Ale works well here. It isn’t too hoppy. It isn’t too bitter. And it certainly isn’t boring.

Slow Cooker Steak Fajitas Recipe:

2 lbs Skirt Steak

2 Bell Peppers

1 Onion

20 oz Salsa

2 tablespoons Fajita Seasoning

1 pack of Tortillas

Sour Cream

  1. Slice the skirt steak, onions and bell peppers into thin strips.
  2. Add the salsa to the slow cooker.
  3. Stir in the sliced beef, onion and bell peppers. Add the fajita seasoning. Mix well in slow cooker.
  4. Cook on LOW 7-8 hours.
  5. Serve on tortillas with guacamole, sour cream or salsa. Or all of them.

Kick it up a notch: You’re going to fill up fast enough on the fajitas that we don’t need to stuff any more food in your face. But a nice nightcap would should do you well. If you know how to make em, fix yourself up an Old Fashioned and let that tangy citric splash punctuate the night.
