BCP Pairing Sessions: #5: Fourth of July Edition – Coney Island Pride

Why It Works: In honor of Nathan’s Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, we’re going to dig deep and give the gourmet treatment to some hot dogs. Now everyone knows you can’t eat just one, so we’re planning a day of grilling for you with an eye on variety.

Gourmet Hot Dogs Recipes:

 

Bacon Jack Dog:

Ingredients:

Hot Dogs

Monterey Jack Cheese

Bacon

Sliced Avocados

Chipotle Mayo

Hot Dog Buns

 

Instructions:

  1. Slice the Hot Dog down one side and stuff crease with Monterey Jack Cheese.
  2. Wrap stuffed hot dog with bacon.
  3. Grill till the bacon is done.
  4. Serve on a bun with a slice of avocado and chipotle mayo.

 

Margherita Dog:

Ingredients:

Hot Dogs

Diced Tomatoes

Sliced Fresh Mozzarella

Chopped Basil

Hot Dog Buns

 

Instructions:

  1. Slice Hot Dogs down the side and grill till the skin glistens, turning to ensure an even grilling.
  2. Serve on Hot Dog Buns with a layer of diced tomatoes, topped by a slice of fresh mozzarella and a sprinkling of chopped basil.

 

Buffalo Dogs:

Ingredients:

Hot Dogs

Buffalo Wing Sauce

Crumbled Blue Cheese

Hot Dog Buns

 

Instructions:

  1. Slice Hot Dogs down the side and grill till the skin glistens, turning to ensure an even grilling.
  2. Serve on Hot Dog Buns with Buffalo Wing Sauce and Crumbled Blue Cheese.

 

Kick it up a notch: You grilled all day with that Undercrown Shade, venturing between the various gourmet hot dog recipes, before shifting to a Sobremesa in the later stages of the afternoon for a change of pace, well what better way to enjoy the fireworks on the Fourth of July than with an El Gueguense and two (maybe three) fingers of rum?
