Cigar Blog Roundup: Cinco de Mayo con cigarros

Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner!

Well, it’s almost that time of year again… time to crack a Corona, light up a stogie and fiesta until your sombrero falls off. Gary at About.com celebrates Mexican cigars in his recent blog post praising Te-Amo, arguably the finest Mexican puro around. Cultivated in the San Andres Valley in Mexico where the soil and climate are almost identical to Cuba, these cigars are a most fitting tribute to Meixcan heritage and pride, which is what Cinco de Mayo is all about.

A stone’s throw from Cancun, Mexico, Cuba was the topic of the week as Cigar Advisor posted this debate with a BOTL forum member. So when might the Cuban embargo be lifted? Short answer: not anytime soon.

Finally, what would Cinco de Mayo be without a little Tequila? How about super-ultra-high-end-premium Tequila? PuffingCigars.com made this post on the ultra-botique Senior Rio Tequila, including talk of pairing the spirit with cigars. Definitely going to have to try that little combination.
