Originally debuted in 2018, Joya de Nicaragua’s limited edition Cinco Decadas was blended to celebrate the “most Nicaraguan” cigar company’s 50 years in business. A Nicaraguan puro crafted using an elite grouping of vintage tobaccos, the Cinco Decadas (translating from Spanish to “five decades”) offers a satisfying combination of a robust medium-full body and an ensemble of spicy-sweet flavor tones.
This commemorative blend has seen new vitolas released in limited quantities annually since its introduction, and this year’s box-pressed El Cumiche (5 ½ x 52) may be its most impressive iteration yet. Named “El Cumiche” in reference to “the young ones” that represent the next generation of the company’s leadership, this sixth addition to the series is its shortest size yet, offering a potent, condensed configuration of its undisclosed full-bodied tobacco recipe. The resulting smoke is flush in earthy and woodsy flavors with hints of cinnamon, pretzel, and leather, all revealed through an immaculately consistent straight burn that’s aided by its Cuban-style box-pressed finish.
Only 1,200 boxes of these rare treats were produced, leaving collectors and connoisseurs scrambling to secure their batch. But not you – you’re getting it right here at the lowest possible price.
