During brand owner Robert Caldwell’s regular trips to Ventura’s factories in the Dominican Republic he would always receive a few of Ventura’s “pocket cigars” – cigars made not for sale, but exclusively for the personal enjoyment of Ventura and his friends and colleagues. These special smokes became some of Caldwell’s favorites, and after years of persistent pleading, Ventura finally relented, granting permission to release some of these secret smokes to the market.
