A throwback to the brand’s 1960s roots, the Davidoff Signature No. 1 L.E. resurrects the slim and stately Pantela Larga (7 ½ x 39) format for an old-school blast of smoky luxury.
Initially released in 1969 as the “Davidoff No. 1”, the Davidoff Signature was one of the brand’s original Cuban blends before moving production to the Dominican Republic. The cigar was officially discontinued in 2016, but now this piece of Davidoff history has re-emerged in a limited run of 5,000 boxes of 10 cigars for 2023.
Rolled using choice Dominican filler leaves under a caramel-hued Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and hybrid 192 seco binder, the Davidoff Signature No. 1 Limited Edition combines classic connoisseur style with a mellow strength and cascading, clean tones of earth, coffee, cream, wood, and silky, subtle sweetness.
Now, I’m not saying you need a top hat and tails to smoke it, but if you were to pick out a cigar to pair with such a get-up, the swanky Signature No. 1 wouldn’t be a bad choice. Grab yours here while they last.
