Cigar of the Week 3/6/25 – Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Seleccion de Mercado

Once reserved for international markets only, the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Seleccion de Mercado is now readily available to cigar lovers in the United States.

Launched to commemorate a decade of Liga Privada excellence, the original Liga Privada 10 Aniversario was released in limited quantities in 2018. With an initial run of just 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars, these excellent anniversary smokes quickly became hard to find and were an even more difficult acquisition for Drew Estate fans outside of the U.S. To remedy this situation, in 2023 the brand launched the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Selección de Mercado – a tweaked version of the cigar made specifically for non-U.S. retailers and distributors. Fast-forward to today, and this special blend has made its way home.

Offered in 10-count boxes spanning four unique sizes, the Selección de Mercado showcases a special Connecticut Criollo wrapper that’s grown exclusively for Drew Estate by a single farmer in the famed Connecticut River Valley. Under this oily top-leaf is a sturdy Mexican San Andrés Negro binder and select Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers, resulting in a smooth and sophisticated tasting profile offering impressions of deep earth, espresso, and cocoa bean, delivered with a Cuban-esque creaminess and hints of savory pepper.

It may have taken a couple of years to reach us, but the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Selección de Mercado’s rich and rounded taste was well worth the wait. Grab yours here before it evades us once again.
