Former Quarterback Hosts Cigar Charity
We love parties, but there’s nothing like a smoke-friendly party where you’re allowed to puff on cigars and mingle with guests. Ron Jaworski, a cigar fan and former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback (known as Jaws), is hosting his annual Super Bowl cigar party next week down in New Orleans.
The big party is a smoke-friendly fundraiser where proceeds from the party will benefit Louisiana victims of Hurricane Isaac, which caused over $2 billion in damages. Louisiana was hit the hardest by the storm and could use some help.
The fundraiser will also raise money for Jaworski’s Youth Playbook, which improves the lives of children in Philadelphia. The Jaws Youth Playbook’s mission is to better the overall health and wellness of at-risk youth, primarily in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
The charity event will have a variety of premium cigars available for guests and will also have both past and present NFL players, ESPN personalities and select cigar-makers set up throughout the party. The cigars for this year’s event will be provided by Davidoff, Camacho, General Cigar, C.A.O., Rocky Patel and SAG Imports. Big names in the cigar world are expected to attend the fundraiser including Rocky Patel, Dylan Austin and Rick Rodriguez to name a few.
This will be the fourth year in a row that Jaworski’s party incorporates cigars for charity. From previous events the parties have raised more than $75,000 through silent auctions of sports memorabilia. We think it’s great when celebrities and those a little more fortunate can come together to raise money for causes in need, but it’s even better when there are cigars involved!
