IPCPR 2013 Run Down

Day two of the IPCPR show (International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association) and everyone is in full swing out here! BCP had a busy day visiting a variety of booths meeting up with just about everyone!

The all new Camacho Blackout

First stop was the Davidoff booth where we got to see the new branding behind Camacho. We were immediately distracted by the all new Camacho Blackout Limited Edition 2013 set up where the new cigars were behind a glass case with scorpions inside! Such a unique display!

Next we visited the General Booth which was one of our favorite set ups. They even won best booth this year! Foundry Tobacco Company had some really cool cigars this year. Among them were the Compounds, Elements and Musings line inspired by the periodic table. One cigar in particular that stood out was the Plutonium, a cigar with four different blends, each the same size, all

within one box. When put together the look of the box is similar to a box of dynamite you might see in a Wile E. Coyote

Plutonium Cigars

and Roadrunner cartoon. Pull it apart and it’s 4 different boxes of cigars.

Perdomo had a great looking booth as well and had several new products that we’re pretty excited about. Nick Perdomo’s wife, Janine Perdomo, came up with a really great accessory we think everyone will love. The accessory was a coffee mug/cigar holder! While it sounds pretty simple it’s such a great idea. Instead of resting your cigar on a table or in an ashtray you can place it right on your coffee cup to make your morning routine just a little easier.

View from the Alec Bradley Party at the Palms

On Monday we ended our day at the Alec Bradley Party held at Phil Maloof’s Penthouse at the Palms and the day could not have ended any better! Among new products from Alec Bradley this year is the Alec Bradley Mundial. This unique cigar was also just sent into space as mentioned in a previous blog post, pretty exciting marketing campaign! Mundial is available in 5 sizes and comes in boxes of 20. New Alec Bradley Tubos are also available and come in Prensado, Tempus, Nica Puro, AB Connecticut and the Black Market.

Another highlight from the trip was the Ashton dinner we attended at Postrio Bar & Grill. Master chef Wolfgang Puck created an amazing menu for the dinner this year where around 200 guests within the cigar industry got together for cigars, drinks, delicious food and fun!

Gurkha had some great new items released at the show this year as well. The Prize Fighter is a mild to medium bodied cigar that

Kaizad Hansotia and Greg Fox at the Gurkha booth

comes in a Connecticut shade/Ecuadorian wrapper paired with an Ecuadorian/Indonesian binder and 3 year aged Dominican filler. They come in bundles of 20 cigars or you can get them in a convenient fresh-lock pouch. The 125th Anniversary Special Edition

from Gurkha was another cigar that really stood out. This cigar is a unique collection of limited edition cigars chosen by Gurkha Chairman Mr. Kaisad Hansotia.

The crew from Best Cigar Prices that attended this year’s IPCPR show had a great time and got a lot of work done. We’re so excited about all of the new products we’re bringing back to the office and will be getting in over the next few months. We can’t wait for you to try them!
