New Cigars 10.21.15.
Are the Greatest Hits in your humidor getting a little played out? Refresh your rotation with these smashing New Cigars –
Sam Leccia Luchador El Gringo:
To kick things off, we have a new cigar from industry innovator and Kid Rock-lookalike Sam Leccia. The Leccia Luchador El Gringo is produced at American Caribbean Tobacco S.A. in Nicaragua using an all-new blend comprised of Nicaraguan Habano binder tobaccos and Pennsylvanian and Nicaraguan Ligero long-fillers under a potent Nicaraguan Oscuro wrapper leaf.
In the El Gringo, Leccia Tobacco has created a cigar that’s not only stronger, but also tastier than the original Luchador, which is no easy feat. A full-bodied smoke teeming with rich flavor and complexity, the latest Luchador blend comes off the top rope with heavy-hitting notes of black pepper, leather, dark chocolate, spice, wood, coffee, and hints of sweet maple.
Even if this cigar wasn’t right up my alley in terms of loud, busy flavor, I would have to give Sam props for including the Frog Splash – a mat press, 4 1/2×70 vitola that’s more akin to an over-sized ice cream sandwich in shape than any cigar that’s come before it. I had fun smoking this particular size not only for its awesome taste, but for the sheer weirdness of it. What can I say, tradition gets kinda boring after awhile. Thankfully, we have guys like Sam out there to keep things fresh.
Aging Room Quattro F59:
With the release of the Aging Room Quattro F59, the Aging Room brand comes one step closer to becoming an industry staple like Romeo y Julieta or Punch. The big difference being that Aging Room has only been in existence for about five years, as opposed to those other brands 100+. For those keeping score, this marks the 6th regular production Aging Room cigar to successfully come to market, and there hasn’t been a bad one yet. In fact, all of them have received considerably high ratings from Cigar Aficionado/Cigar Insider. No really, check it out:
The Aging Room Quattro F59 has yet to receive a rating since it’s so new, but with its smooth profile dropping rich tones of spice, wood, pepper, and leather through an ample, creamy draw, it’s only a matter of time. Look for this new Boutique Blends stick to inevitably show up on CA’s Top 25 of 2015, and in the meantime, grab yours at a sharp discount here.
Pacific Twyst Flavored Cigars:
I know, I know. How dare I soil this blog page with mentions of a flavored cigar, right? Listen, it’s a matter of different strokes for different folks, or in this case, different smokes. Ones that taste like Vanilla Bourbon, Cherry Mojito, and other crazy s#!+.
Pacific Twyst cigars come to us from the esteemed Ventura Cigar Co., offering an updated take on traditional flavored cigars. Available in 4 distinct, boozy flavors, these sticks are mellow in strength and heavy on taste for as low as $1.04/stick. Don’t want to be caught smoking a flavored cigar? No worries, just remove the band. And when your herf buddies eventually notice the sweet aroma wafting in the air around you, just blame it on those damn vaper kids that’ve been terrorizing the neighborhood with their souped-up e-cigs.
There’s plenty more where these came from. I’ll see you right back here next week.
