News Brief – Avo to Release “Dominant 13th” Birthday Cigar
Jazz musician and cigar-maestro Avo Uvezian is set to release his 12th special edition birthday cigar this April, according to Cigar Aficionado.
The cigar, named Dominant 13th after a famous jazz chord, is a 6×52 toro featuring a blend of Dominican Piloto, Viso, Ligero, and Yamasa tobaccos, along with some
Peruvian filler and an Ecuadorian wrapper leaf. Only 9000 boxes of the limited-edition cigar will be produced.
Continuing the tradition of extravagant packaging from previous releases, the cigar celebrating Avo’s 87th birthday will come in a box designed to look like a music book that opens to reveal 13 cigars and the sheet music for Uvezian’s “Delightful Days.” The box will also include a USB flash drive containing a movie clip, music by Avo, a screen-saver, and other special features. The Dominant 13th is Avo’s third consecutive music-themed cigar, following 2011’s Avo 25th Anniversary and 2012’s La Trompeta.
The cigar will see its initial release on March 28th at New York City’s Grand Havana Room before making its debut at a series of release parties in Florida, Illinois, Arizona, Texas, and Michigan, and is expected to hit retailer’s shelves sometime in mid-April.
