OSA SOL by CAO (video)
Rick Rodriguez, head blender for CAO, took a few minutes to talk to us about the inspiration for his first blend for the company, OSA SOL.
Hello, I’m Rick Rodriguez, the Head Blender for CAO. I’m here to talk about the CAO OSA, my first blend for CAO. That wrapper is from a state in Honduras called Olancho, and the farm that we chose in Olancho was St. Augustine. And I shortened that for OSA. When you’re smoking that cigar, I think it’s a mild to medium bodied cigar, a lot of flavor. I wanted to create a cigar for flavor, not body. And I want you to be able to enjoy this cigar any time of the day, any time of the night. So this is a rich, creamy cigar, love the blend.
The box is very unique, too, because it represents to me, the barn. The barn on that property or that farm is a whitewashed barn. It’s very unique. As a matter of fact, it is the only whitewashed barn in Honduras. And so, I took that look for that box or that barn and made my box. There’s a river running through that farm, too. So I incorporated that river effect but very unique looking box, very good cigar.
