Zino Platinum’s Newest Ambassador: Tater Salad
According to a press release on MarketWire.com, Ron White is the newest ambassador for Zino Platinum. While some people in the cigar community may think this is a mismatch, I think it’s an awesome idea. After all, Ron White is the man behind one of my favorite cigar quotes in history: “I’ve got a great cigar collection – it’s actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn’t going to smoke every last one of ’em.”
Really, it seems like the next logical step for Zino Platinum—it seems like their marketing campaigns tend to stray from tradition (take, for example, the fantastic dog pictures on the Zino Platinum Scepter tins). Ron White’s involvement with the brand will include special appearances at Zino Platinum events and a Zino Platinum Ron White Signature cigar, which will be blended according to his tastes.
White’s first appearance as Zino Platinum’s spokesperson was on March 29th at the nationwide launch of the new Z-Class Series in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The Z-Class Series is Zino Platinum’s first new line in 8 years (and we will soon carry it!).
I, personally, had always wondered what cigars Ron White smoked while performing, but I could never figure it out since the bands are usually removed. He’s mentioned Montecristos before in interviews, but now I can only assume that Zino Platinums are in rotation at least some of the time.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing how the partnership goes, because as a fan of both Ron White and Zino Platinum, I think great things could come of it.
