To my knowledge, the Arturo Fuente Anejo is a limited production full bodied cigar that is generally distributed to retailers in small quantities just before Father's Day and shortly before Christmas. While the No 77 aka "Shark" is one of the most coveted cigars on the planet, the No 48 (which this review is about) has earned praise for prolonging that infamous Anejo flavor. The outstanding construction of the Anejo No 48 is on display with the eye-catching dark and sturdy Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Although the cigar is a full bodied smoke, it starts out smooth and sweet yet slightly spicy. Notes of coffee bean and vanilla are very prevalent at the beginning of this magnificent cigar. As the cigar progresses, cocoa, cognac and caramel flavors add to this top notch cigar that has complexity from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this smoke to the full bodied cigar enthusiast. The quality and exclusivity of the Anejo make it the perfect celebratory cigar. I would recommend pairing with an aged bourbon, vintage single malt Scotch, or top shelf cognac.

every single time I smoke an Anejo I wonder why I buy anything else. That is the truth. Every single time. Grab a nice grip and rest them up. They only get better with time. Also, I find they perform better around 65% RH.
