I have had a few Gurkas in my time and they have always been consistent and satisfying. I took a chance on the Widowmaker and I won! Although not an everyday 'gar for me, when you need a lot of flavor and some noteworthy "man stuff", this did the job for me. I would have known it was a Gurka even if I was blindfolded.
If you want to know you are smoking a good cigar, this one will tell you. I always like to have a couple "meaty" 'gars in my Humidor. I have them now.

I found these cigars to be light, uneven burners, the taste of which did not improve over time. They also arrived with dry wrappers that cracked once lighted. The good thing about buying them is that I have confirmed that I am NOT a Gurkha smoker.

I have for a number of years really wanted to like Gurkha cigars but, over the last year or two, every cigar purchase from Gurkha has been a bit disappointing for a premium cigar. The construction is lacking: the wrapper cracks upon using my V-cutter on the end, and usually cracks again 1 or 2 times during the smoke. Also, the ash tends to fall off every 1/2" or so so...laps beware! The taste was good but, not great, with notes of leather and earth. Just, a bit of a let down from what I was expecting...

I don't know if I received a bad batch but these weren't very good. The cigars were wrapped very loosely causing you to draw in nothing but smoke and get no flavor. I won't be buying these again.
