When a cigar's wrapper leaf is wound around its binder and filler, it is wrapped in a spiral, starting at the foot and ending at the head, until the entire cigar is covered with the flavorful tobacco leaf. This spiraled leaf is, in fact, a helix. And that is how distinctively mellow Helix Cigars got their name when they were developed by the cigar making artisans in Danli, Honduras.
Enjoyed this cigar thoroughly during my weekly meet-up at my local tobaccolist. Great draw, nicely constructed and even burn. I personally prefer mild cigars so this one fit the bill. However I received mines with cigar mold spotted in a few places, including a few spots on the foot. I found that tubed cigars run that risk more often. I rubbed it down with vodka and humidified it in it's on ziplock with a water pillow. I didn't have any issues after that but might have changed the flavor. The cigar tasted plain, not much to it. I still recommend these but beware the tubes.
