Rated 92 - Voted #24 Cigar Aficionado Top 25 Cigars Of 2016! The concept behind Illusione Cigars was to re-create a specific taste profile from years past. Before the Sandinistas took over in 1979, Nicaragua was growing some of the best tobaccos in the world. The cigars made from these prized fields in the Jalapa Valley and Esteli region were strong, bold and clean. Fast-forward to 2012 and these humble acres have been re-invigorated to once again yield their fullest potential, including the premium tobaccos found in the Illusione cigar. All Illusione cigars are made from first generation Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 seeds, wrapped with a grade one Café Colorado wrapper, and finished with a traditional triple cap in the premier Raices Cubanas factory. Made in small-batch quantities to maintain top quality and consistency, Illusione cigars deliver a satisfying taste and bold character rarely found in today’s cigar market.

Great little stick, burns straight and ash falls off in about 3/4 to 1 inch solid chunks. The pact is very dense and the draw is a bit snug but I feel that adds to is great construction. You can leave this stick alone for almost 5 minutes without it going out. The strength is perfectly balanced for anyone i.e. if you like it strong smoke it fast but if your a milder or newer smoke keep it slow. That flavors shift with notes cedar, coffee and cream but a core of leather always seems to be there. Nice stick it I'd get a little funny when there was about an inch and a half left, but I smoked it down to the nub.
