To say this is a worthy tribute is a vast understatement—this is one of Quesada’s most epic undertakings yet. The wrapper on these Dominican beauties is a one-of-a-kind hybrid called HCHS, which is a cross between Habano 2000, Corojo, Habano Vuelta Arriba, and Sumatra. Underneath this dark, oily wrapper leaf is a Honduran Criollo ’98 binder and ligero fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. This combination of flavorful tobaccos produces a smoke that is rich, powerful, and complex with notes of bread, dried fruit, caramel, cinnamon, black pepper, and oak. This vast flavor profile, along with a perfect burn and generous draw, makes for a truly enjoyable cigar.
