Manuel Quesada, the man behind Casa Magna, blended the Quesada Tributo line to celebrate the lives of four of his family members and close associates who passed away. To say this is a worthy tribute is a vast understatement—this is one of Quesada’s most epic undertakings yet. The wrapper on these Dominican beauties is a one-of-a-kind hybrid called HCHS, which is a cross between Habano 2000, Corojo, Habano Vuelta Arriba, and Sumatra. Underneath this dark, oily wrapper leaf is a Honduran Criollo ’98 binder and ligero fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. This combination of flavorful tobaccos produces a smoke that is rich, powerful, and complex with notes of bread, dried fruit, caramel, cinnamon, black pepper, and oak. This vast flavor profile, along with a perfect burn and generous draw, makes for a truly enjoyable cigar.
