About Rocky Patel

Before Rakesh "Rocky" Patel was one of the biggest names in cigars, he worked as a Hollywood attorney. In the early 90s, he developed a taste for cigars and sold his legal practice to travel to Honduras, where he spent five years working and learning the cigar trade from seed to smoke. In 1996, he introduced his first cigar line: Indian Tabac Cigars Co. These full-strength smokes with bright, head-turning packaging are considered to be the very first Rocky Patel cigars.

The early 2000s introduced a more focused version of the Rocky Patel brand, led by the launch the Vintage series. Fast forward a few more years and Rocky Patel introduced yet another smash hit with the Rocky Patel Decade. This blend features a Sumatra wrapper with Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos. It invites aficionados to experience a unique combination of flavor notes with a distinctive, bold finish. 2016 marked yet another milestone, with the Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro earning the #2 spot among Cigar Aficionado’s Cigars of the Year.
