Ashton Cigars - History
With a rich history, Ashton cigars are among the finest in the industry offering a range of premium cigars handmade in the Dominican Republic by the famous Fuente family. When they first began, six sizes were released including the 8-9-8, Churchill, Corona, Panatela, Prime Minister, and Sovereign. Today, you can find these classic Ashton cigars sizes still making their impact.
In 1988, Ashton cigars launched two additional blends - Ashton Aged Maduro and Ashton Cabinet Selection. Ashton Aged Maduro cigars feature a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper cured using a unique slow-fermentation process that produces a smooth, sweet taste and a rich, dark hue uniformly among the leaves. The Ashton Cabinet Selection offers Dominican tobacco leaves that have been aged up to seven years under a creamy Connecticut Shade wrapper to produce an aromatic, complex, and well-rounded flavor. One of the very first full-bodied cigars is the Ashton VSG cigar wrapped in Sun Grown wrappers with Dominican long tobacco, offering a kick of spice.
