EP Carillo Cigars

EP Carrillo Cigars -

Since the 1970s, legendary cigar architect and owner of EP Carrillo cigars, EP Carrillo, has been crafting cigars in Miami's Little Havana district in his father’s El Credito factory. After his father passed away in 1980, EP took over the reins at El Credito beginning his career as a leading figure in the cigar industry. Initially enduring years of low sales and financial difficulties, Ernesto Jr. found his calling when creating the original La Gloria Cubana cigar. Inspired by the success of the Cuban Davidoff cigar line, La Gloria became an immediate hit among Miami locals.

In 1992, the La Gloria Cubana brand gained more than local praise when four of its nine cigars scored 90 or higher in a review publication called Cigar Aficionado. From then on the boutique brand went from selling a few thousand cigars a year to millions. It outperformed even the fiercest Cuban competitors and Carrillo became known as one of the world’s top cigar blenders.

In 1999, Ernesto eventually sold El Credito to industry giant Swedish Match but continued to work for the company until 2009 to start his own business venture, the EP Carrillo Cigar Company. With the help of his son Ernesto III and daughter Lissett, they released the first EP Carrillo “Core Line” cigars the following year to much critical acclaim. This core line features cigars with Cuban-seed Dominican tobaccos and rich Nicaraguan leaves. It delivers a spot-on medium body with rich and creamy flavors.

Ernesto’s ideals of consistency, tradition, and passion for perfection are evident even today as the Carrillo family continues to provide customers with a diverse portfolio of cigar blends and sizes to satisfy even the most discerning cigar aficionado. Choose from a wide selection of EP Carrillo cigars. This includes the EP Carrillo La Historia cigar featuring an elegant appearance with a thick and oily San Andrés Sungrown Maduro wrapper over an Ecuadoran Sumatra binder and a filler blend of 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos. Its complex flavors offer rich notes of roasted nuts, espresso, black pepper, and dark chocolate. For a robust and flavorful cigar, there is the EP Carrillo Edicion Limitada 2015. Its profile is blended with Nicaraguan binder and filler leaves, a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, and earthy and nutty flavors. Browse a selection of EP Carrillo Cigars at affordable prices.
