According to this article in the Austrian Times (with photos), construction of the world’s fattest cigar has just been completed in Danli, Honduras. We’re not sure what ring gauge it is (definitely in the quadruple digits), but we do know it’s nearly 20 ft. long and made of 11,000+ tobacco leaves.
We think Wikipedia will have to update its photo of the world’s largest cigar. We don’t have the stats on it, but just eyeballing the new 1,000 lb. behemoth it appears to blow away the current world record.
The gargantuan ‘gar was commissioned by an anonymous American. According to the manufacturers, it will, “go on show in the USA and then we are looking for a museum where it can be kept and preserved in perfect conditions.” Good luck finding a humidor to hold it. Oh, wait, they built their own 20-foot travel tube!
Still, I think they’re going to have burn issues… unless they’ve got a flame thrower handy to light it.
