Every so often someone will publish an article with a list of cigar-related quotes from noteworthy individuals. Each time an article like this pops up on my radar, I eagerly open it only to find some combination of the same popular, well-trodden quotes from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mark Twain, etc. Indeed, diversity in content is not one of the greatest strengths of our industry.

We all like to be inspired, to relate, and reflect on our favorite past time. But what is the underlying theme of the cigar lifestyle? What’s the feeling and sentiment behind a fine cigar? You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who would argue that relaxation was not a large part of it.
