Cigar Aficionado Reveals Top 25 Cigars of 2016 – #8, 9, & 10

The annual proceedings have begun and the fancy folks over at Cigar Aficionado have started to unveil their Top 25 Cigars of 2016, beginning with the revelation of #’s 8, 9, & 10 this morning:

#10 – Punch Gran Puro Santa Rita

Calling it a “love letter to Honduras,” the experts at CA have selected this heavy-hitting Honduran-made Honduran Puro as #10 on this year’s list. On the strong side of medium-full in body and rife with potent full flavor, the short and stout Punch Gran Puro Santa Rita gains two ratings points this year, climbing to a 93 from its previous score of 91.

#9 – Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 (Cuba)

Known to many as the “quintessential Cuban robusto,” the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 lands the #9 spot for 2016. Citing “delicate nuance, complexity and aroma,” CA awarded the No. 2 an esteemed 93 rating.

#8 – Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto

With its Figurado vitola having been nominated the #1 Cigar of 2014, Oliva’s Serie V Melanio blend is no stranger to this list, and today it makes its triumphant return to the Top 25. The Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto clocks in at #8 this year, with its silky-sweet profile an incredible balance earning it a respectable 94 rating.
