Cohiba’s Riviera Brings New Flavor to Their Portfolio

The Cohiba brand has been around for decades, so one might assume that they’ve already done it all when it comes to cigars. Well, as it turns out, they are still branching out and marking company firsts. Don’t believe us? Just look at their new Riviera line.

Let’s start with the blend. The Cohiba Riviera contains four different fillers: Honduran Jamastran, Honduran La Entrada, Nicaraguan Esteli and, for the first time in a Cohiba, Nicaraguan Condega. All of these rich tobaccos are firmly held within a Honduran Connecticut binder and a San Andres wrapper. Believe it or not, this is also the first Cohiba to use a San Andres wrapper, too!

As Cohiba’s brand ambassador, Sean William, wrote in a press release, the Riviera is “an elegant selection offering notes of dark chocolate and coffee bean with a hint of leather and subtle cream on the finish.” If you are looking for a new medium-to-full bodied cigar to try, the Riviera could be the perfect blend to add to your humidor.

These beautiful, hand-rolled cigars are available in Toro (6 ½ x 52) and Robusto (5 x 52) sizes in 20-count boxes. You can also get this new blend in a lovely Perfecto vitola (6 x 60), which comes in boxes of 10. All sizes of the Riviera are box-pressed as well, making this the first box-pressed Cohiba ever!

If this sounds like a lot of firsts, that’s because it is. After all, it’s not every day that a brand introduces a filler, wrapper, and construction that’s new to their portfolio—especially all in one cigar. Credit to Cohiba for their continued innovation, rather than resting on their laurels as a celebrated name in premium cigars.
