Different Cigar Cutters

64 Ring Cutter

There are several types of cigar cutters.   The most popular being a guillotine both single and double,  following by a punch cut and V cut and other unique cuts include scissors and even teeth and finger nails though the latter two are not suggested.

The guillotine is popular because it takes off the entire cap allowing for exact measure of what you want removed.   A punch cut cores the top.    A V cut cutter literally cuts as described a “V”.    It’s a fairly popular type of cutter as well.

Cutters are typically used to ensure a clean cut.  To put it lightly, it’s just not a socially acceptable method to cut a cigar using your teeth.

The downside to a punch cut is that it’s concentrating the smoke at the end as the first few whiffs will be “somewhat bitter”  on a cigar relight.

Place the cigar cutter flat on a table,  then insert the cigar from the top.   You’ll notice that the cut will be exactly the fraction of an inch and is considered a perfect cut.  You can pick up quality cutters at best cigar prices and have them ship with your order of cigars.
