Gurkha (Beach Cigar Group) Merges Distribution with Cojimar

According to a press release circulating today, Gurkha CEO and Beach Cigar Group owner Kaizad Hansotia will now be Cojimar’s main distributor. Hansotia will work with Cojimar owner Rosie Perez to expand the market for the flavored cigar maker’s product line to an additional 3,000+ retailers.

This comes hot on the heels of news that Rocky Patel and United Tobacco have joined forces. As local and federal tobacco taxes challenge the very business models of Mom and Pop cigar retailers and the global recession takes its toll across the whole industry, we expect to see a few more mergers going forward.

It’s clear the old way of doing business is no longer cutting the mustard. Rocky Patel and Kaizad Hansotia have reinvigorated the cigar industry by embracing modern marketing techniques and cutting-edge brand identities. We think these new partnerships will go a long way toward helping the cigar world thrive in this difficult economic environment.
