The recently introduced Herrera Esteli by Drew Estate is the top-rated cigar rolled at the La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, having scored an average of 90 points in an April 30 Cigar Insider vertical brand tasting. The much-celebrated blend will soon be available in an additional size, according to Cigar Insider. In the new year, a tall, thin Lancero vitola will join the Herrera Esteli line-up as its 6th available size.
Staying true to traditional Cuban lancero dimensions, the cigar will measure 7 1/2 inches long by 38 ring gauge and is the first Drew Estate cigar to be made in that particular size. Blender Willy Herrera has stated that the Lancero will be produced in smaller quantities than the rest of the line. “I’m going to bring it out in limited numbers,” he said. “It’s a niche-market kind of cigar. The last thing I want to do is put it in every shop.”
While the Herrera Esteli blend of Ecuadorian Habano wrappers, Honduran Criollo binders, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos will remain the same, Herrera noted that the slim vitola results in a different flavor profile.“The flavors of the blend come out so much more in those smaller ring sizes,” Herrera said. “You get a lot more of that wrapper. The wrapper and binder definitely come out a lot more.”
The Herrera Esteli Lancero is slated for release in late January or February of 2014, look for its subsequent arrival here at BestCigarPrices.
