Hi, everybody, this is Jesus Fuego with J. Fuego Cigars. We’re here at BestCigarPrices.com, and we’re going to briefly talk about a subject that I get comments and questions all over the place about what to pair with your cigars. I think it’s a very personal choice. I personally like to usually pair it with something that enhances the flavor of the cigar.
I’m more a cigar guy than a drinker, so I like to have my drink that enhances my cigar, not the other way around. I would say to me the favorite thing that goes with a cigar is a good rum. I personally love the Flor de Cana 18. I like the Zacapa, too. I like that with my more robust cigars, with my fuller-bodied cigars. I guess I’m the opposite of a lot of smokers because I need my strongest cigar of the day to be my first cigar of the day, and then at the end of the day when I’m unwinding and relaxing, I like smoking something like mellower, like the 777 Zero, and I like to pair it with one of my favorite drinks for cigars and that is called Carajillo. It’s a drink that I learned from my Spanish ancestors.
What they do is you take a big shot of espresso, like a double espresso, very little sugar or no sugar at all. I like it with no sugar and a nice shot of VSOP or a brandy inside when it’s a little chilly outside. It goes extremely well with a cigar, so I would recommend you guys to try that, the Carajillo especially with a cigar that is not too strong. Double espresso, good quality espresso, with a nice shot of VSOP inside, and don’t be shy with the VSOP. It will make the whole ride a lot funnier.
