Joe Chiusano, President of Cusano Cigars, Steps Down

For reasons currently unknown, Joe Chiusano has stepped down as president of Cusano Cigars, according to an article in Cigar Aficionado. This departure comes just over a year after his brother, Mike Chiusano, founder of the company, stepped down last February. Taking his place will be J.T. Guagliardo and bill Holliway, both heads of marketing and sales for Cusano Cigars.

Peter Baenninger, president of Davidoff, remarked, “It’s really a team now,” adding, “We’re not looking to hire someone else. J.T. and Bill will be responsible for the brand.” Joe Chiusano officially tendered his resignation on February 1, and on March 1, Guagliardo and Holliway assumed his former duties.

I’ve only smoked one Cusano cigar—the Cusano 15th Anniversary—and I absolutely loved it. Thankfully, I can’t imagine that the brand will change very much since the new president(s) were moved up from within the company. Regardless, I wish Joe (and Mike) Chiusano the best of luck in the future, and I also wish Guagliardo and Holliway the best of luck heading the brand.
