Mobile Man Cave Shuts Down in California

Sadly, another small business in America has been shut down due to a recent ruling in California. California’s infamous CigarRV, a mobile man cave for cigar lovers, will no longer remain an on-the-go cigar retailer. As of last week, all mobile cigar lounges are no longer able to sell products due to a ruling by California’s Board of Equalization. Because of this new rule CigarRV will no longer be in service.

Jack Grant, owner of the CigarRV, was informed about the decision through a newsletter from the Board of Equalization earlier this year. The newsletter stated that Grant’s license was not able to be renewed, forcing him out of business immediately.

According to Concord Patch the Board of Equalization explained their decision by stating that sellers of tobacco must have a retail license for each retail location, a mobile location does not meet the definition as a retail location.

Grant started his CigarRV business back in 2010 and mentioned that he’s been “well received” everywhere he’s gone. Now that this new ruling has put him out of business, Grant said he is going to look for an out-of-state buyer for his mobile lounge and also have to figure out what he’s going to do for a living now.

We’re sad to see Grant’s business shut down and wish we were able to experience the CigarRV firsthand.
