Ike Karipides, director of premium cigar sales for Nat Sherman, took a few minutes during a recent visit to speak to us about the history of this legendary brand.
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Ike Karipides, Director of Premium Cigar Sales for Nat Sherman. Nat Sherman is a purveyor of fine cigars from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. We’re an 84-year-old family owned business, currently in our third generation. But before Nat Sherman was a brand or even a store in New York City, Nat Sherman was a man. In 1930 he opened his first store at 1400 Broadway in the heart of the Garment District in New York City. He was a tobacconist to the world.
We’ve always maintained a flagship presence in New York City. Currently we’re on 42nd Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, but we’re well received and embraced by retailers across the country and all over the world. We have a wide variety of premium cigars manufactured in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Some of our notable classics are the Host selection from Honduras, the Metropolitan selection from Dominican Republic, and our timeless Nicaraguan selection from Nicaragua. The company is now run by Nat Sherman’s son, Joel Sherman, who’s in the midst of celebrating his 75th birthday as well as his three grandchildren, Bill, Larry, and Michelle.
We’re proud to be a part of Best Cigar Prices, and we hope you enjoy our offerings at Best Cigar Prices.
