Springtime Cigar Pairings

Spring is in the air and that can only mean one thing. It’s stogie season. Warmer weather and longer daylight hours equate to enjoying fine cigars in the great outdoors, just the way Mother Nature intended. Whether you enjoy your springtime smoke on the golf course, on a leisurely stroll, or out on the porch, there’s no denying that not much can compare to a cigar and a cocktail in your favorite outdoor smoke spot.

Here are a few cigar/ cocktail combinations we can’t wait to break out this spring:

Cigar: Padron Anniversario Serie 1964

Cocktail: Bourbon & Ginger

• 1.5 oz of Bourbon
• 2 oz of ginger ale

This extremely easy drink pairs perfectly with a medium to full-bodied cigar. Typically, more complex bourbons pair with milder cigars, and vice versa. Bulleit Bourbon, which has high rye content, adds a bold and spicy character to this drink. Perfect combination for relaxing on your patio in the warm weather.

Cigar: Punch After Dinner Maduro

Cocktail:  Stinger

• 1 3/4 oz brandy
• 3/4 oz white creme de menthe

As Cary Grant once said, “Stingers, and keep them coming.” This semi old fashioned cocktail is the perfect nightcap, especially when paired with a fine cigar.

Cigar: Montecristo #2

Cocktail:  Mojito

• Ice
• 6 ounces light rum
• 12 mint sprigs
• 6 tablespoons fresh lime juice
• 4 tablespoons sugar
• Club soda
• 4 slices lime

Nothing pairs with sunshine and good times quite like a cigar and a refreshing Mojito. This Cuban drink goes perfectly with a mellow and flavorful smoke.
