Cuba’s Habanos Festival Is Back for 2022

One of the biggest celebrations of cigars in the world—the Habanos Festival—is making its return in 2022. This week-long event in Cuba highlights some of the finest cigars the country has to offer, but there’s more to it than that.

The Habanos Festival commonly features factory tours, trade shows, and the finest food and spirits to complement your cigars. On top of all of that, the party is always capped off with a charity auction that pulls in some serious money. The last time the festival was held, early in 2020, there was a record-breaking bid of $2.7 million for a Cohiba humidor.

Of course, shortly after the 2020 Habanos Festival, the effects of the pandemic started to become apparent in every corner of the world. By the time 2021 rolled around, it came as no surprise that the festival was cancelled for that year. But now Cuba has announced that it’s ready to welcome tourists again starting in November of 2021. That may mean little to Americans who are still unable to visit Cuba, but it’s still a welcome sign of normalcy.

As for the specifics of the 2022 Habanos Festival, details are expected at a later date. What we do know is the expected date range for the festivities: February 21 – February 25. So mark your calendar (even if you can’t travel to Cuba), because this is a great sign for the entire cigar community.
