Named for one of J.C. Newman’s original brands, El Baton is a standout Nicaraguan smoke. These dark, oily, and well-rolled stogies come dressed in a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper, which adds spice and leather to the already rich and earthy Nicaraguan binder and filler leaves. Expect a powerhouse smoke with notes of oak, black pepper, roasted nuts, and black coffee.
First time smoking this stick and a long time Cuban smoker. Must admit, I was very impressed. The draw was fantastic, the first third pretty subtle and each third growing in intensity, flavor and complexity...and at this price point! I will definitely re order these.
I ordered this cig b/c of its CA 93 point rating and also ordered MAXX Fix, Gurkha Ninja, RyJ Havoc, and the Olivia V robusto to compare...so far, Maxx and Baton lit up and the Baton definitely ahead on the score cards

I've tried quite a few of the C.A. top 25 list at this point, and i have to say this is my favorite cigar on the list. Nice construction and visually appealing. This is a very flavorful cigar. Nice burn and the spice and complexity left me very impressed.
