Another one-of-a-kind palate-pleaser from Drew Estate & Rocky Patel, Java Red is an aromatic tobacco treasure offering sweet cherry essence punctuated by savory dark cocoa and roasted coffee tasting notes. A rich and lively blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos serves as the perfect base for the Java Red’s refined and complex infusion, culminating in a sophisticated flavored cigar that’s great on its own, and simply enchanting when paired with strong espresso or a bitter Italian Amaro.
Good smoke, although I think they need a little moisture right out of the box at this time of year in Western Pa, but it was a good smoke. Has the definite sweet spot toward the middle of the stick, but it was still pleasant down to about the last inch inch and a half, started getting hot after that. Good construction, held together well, good solid ash. Surprisingly they were not very heavy smoke producers, again, I think because it's so dry up here they can use a few points of moisture compared to say Florida at this time of year. Still, I enjoyed it, and will be sharing with some other friends who were curious. I was the guinea pig on these, and since I'm still standing, the rest of the crew is going to check them out.
