Picked this up as an add-on to an order, and figured; at the price, how can I go wrong? I was right, it’s well worth the price. Nothing elaborate, but I don’t need anything elaborate, I’m not carrying my sticks to impress anyone. This little baby has a humidistat and a sponge to keep your sticks humid while you travel, which is vital for me because I travel exclusively (and extensively) throughout the “old west” which it notorious for single digit humidity. A couple of days out of a humidor, and your sticks are worthless until you age them for another month or more back in your humidor. I’ve used this on two trips now, and if the humidistat is correct, kept the sticks in the 65%-75% consistently, EXCEPT right after opening. One change that I would suggest is to line it with some Spanish cedar to help keep the inside humidity consistent right after opening. Because it’s all metal, once you open it, it takes hours to get the humidity back to the desired 70%, some wood would help stabilize that a bit (in fact, I intend to make a veneer liner, and put a disk of cedar at top and bottom with a hole for the humidistat and sponge). Pros: inexpensive, strong, small, and well-made Cons, metal liner needs some wood to help level humidity after opening.
