Sporting a hot, modern look, Saint Luis Rey Reserva Especial cigars are still some of the most satisfying Honduran smokes in our humidor. Boasting bold full flavor and a pleasing aroma, these handsome handmades owe their savory tasting profile to a unique blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Peruvian tobaccos beneath a Nicaraguan binder and a dark and alluring Nicaraguan wrapper. Strong, smooth, and earthy-rich, Saint Luis Rey always hits the spot.
St. Luis Rey where have you been? Your wrapping is stylish, regal almost. Your aroma is nutty creamy and enticing. Your light is smooth and cooler than expected. The first few draws are a deliciously flavorful and smooth, like the silky and slightly poly Morrón wrapper. The robust, comfortable smoke is consistent, flavorful, and highlights the blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian long filler tobaccos that comprise this tasty tidbit. It finishes well, cool, a little nutty, and flavorful to the end.

I enjoy St Louis Rey products. These are a decent smoke for the money. The burn can be uneven at times but that may be a function of my humidor not the cigar build.

These SLRs have been my go to for a while now due to a combination of value and consistency. I've seen some write about issues with burn unevenness but haven't had any issues. They can be a bit harsh, esp. for an inexperienced cigar smoker.

The first time I tried the St. Luis Rey Reserva Especial Rothchilde Maduro I was hooked on it! It's become a regular in my rotation not only for its smoke and quality but also for the price. I found it to be a smooth, full-strength cigar with hints of both woody and coffee. The construction is absolutely spot-on from the wrap to the cap. The burn is what you make it. A slow smoke will produce a fine, solid ash and the taste is consistent from start to finish. The overall quality of the cigar is outstanding and the price is a stunner! Buy 'em, try 'em, and you'll love 'em!
