The story behind Undercrown is almost as epic as the blend itself. This cigar, released in 2011, came about because the torcedores at the Drew Estate factory were smoking so many Liga Privadas that the company was having trouble keeping inventory. They blended Undercrown, which Jonathan Drew calls an “inverse Liga Privada,” to smoke instead, this time using an exceptionally dark Otapan Negro Último Corte wrapper leaf from Mexico. “Último Corte,” meaning “last cut,” refers to the process of delaying the harvest for several weeks in order to bring out the leaf’s natural sweetness. The Undercrown uses a Connecticut-grown stalk-cut Habano leaf (the same one used in Liga Privada T52) for its binder, and the filler is a blend of Brazilian Mata Fina and Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobaccos. The result, as you could well imagine, is outstanding. Undercrown is chocolaty, earthy, creamy, and peppery with some of the richest tobacco flavors you can find. The construction is on par with any Drew Estate cigar, and ensures an easy draw and razor-straight burn from start to finish.
This is a great cigar at the price point. Solidly constructed yet no plugging issues at all. Smooth draw and taste throughout. Not harsh at all.

Love everything about these. Especially if BCP has these on sale. Great draw, smooth complex flavor of espresso and pepper.

I liked the cigar as I enjoyed it during a round of golf this morning. I definitely noticed it was very dry upon snipping it.

Great overall smoke. Good balance between flavor and smoothness.

The cigars arrived quickly and fresh. The Drew Estate cigars have a wonderful smell and earthy taste to them. The Liga Privada Undercrown was smooth, burned well and tasted like fresh nuts. I look forward to my next order.

I smoked several cigars after it arrived and one was very good and some others were okay but overall I think it's a good smoke

I purchased Liga Privada Undercrown Gran Toro by Drew Estate 6 x 52—Box of 25 cigars for over 7 years. They are my go-to smoke. They have even replaced my age-old favorite of Ashton Maduro #40 cigars that I still smoke on occasion, but not as much as Lig Privada Undercrown Gran Toros. Drew Estate makes some of the best cigars I've smoked in my 40+ year experience as a cigar smoker.

I think these are a decent alternative to the higher priced Linga line! A good value...

Folks, I have smoked cigars for the last forty (40) years. In that time, I have smoked some of the BEST Cuban (Cohiba, H. Upmann, Partagas, etc.) and non-Cuban boutique cigars (Arturo Fuente Opus X, Padron Anniversary Serie, Davidoff Millenium Serie, Gurkha HMR, Ashton ESG & VSG, Drew Estate Liga Privada #9 & T52) on the planet! I currently am totally enamored with this cigar! The appearence, construction, and draw/burn are top-notch! As of January 5, 2013, I have smoked over 1,000 of these beauties! Of this number, only four (4) did not burn razor-sharp. And all four (4) of these sticks self-corrected, requiring no intervention on my part! The flavor and complexity is always spot-on. At this point, I'd have to say you can pay more for a quality cigar, but I don't think you will find a better value (or cigar) than the Drew Estate Liga Privada Undercrown Cigar!

The Liga Privada Undercrown Gran Toro is not a flavored cigar, but is an extremely popular line from Drew Estate.
