Well, it’s almost that time of year again… time to crack a Corona, light up a stogie and fiesta until your sombrero falls off. Gary at About.com celebrates Mexican cigars in his recent blog post praising Te-Amo, arguably the finest Mexican puro around. Cultivated in the San Andres Valley in Mexico where the soil and climate are almost identical to Cuba, these cigars are a most fitting tribute to Meixcan heritage and pride, which is what Cinco de Mayo is all about.
A stone’s throw from Cancun, Mexico, Cuba was the topic of the week as Cigar Advisor posted this debate with a BOTL forum member. We found it food for thought after posting our own article considering when the Cuban embargo might be lifted. Short answer? Not anytime soon.
Finally, what would Cinco de Mayo be without a little Tequila? How about super-ultra-high-end-premium Tequila? PuffingCigars.com made this post on the ultra-botique Senior Rio Tequila, including talk of pairing the spirit with cigars. Definitely going to have to try that little combination.
