Yesterday we brought you the top 5 cigar apps for iPhone. I admit there was some bias, as I am an iPhone user. I have nothing but respect for Android, and as reader David Kjellquist noted in his comment, the Google-designed mobile platform is currently out-selling the iPhone OS by 4:1.
So today we bring you the top 3 cigar apps for Android smartphones. While the Android app market is not as established as the iPhone’s, the devices are positively exploding in popularity and quality apps are following. I can’t vouch for these Android apps myself, but judging on the user ratings and descriptions, there really only are a handful of cigar apps worth checking out at the moment. Here are your options for Android-based cigar software:
RateMyCigar
Price: $4.95
Android’s premiere cigar collection tracking and rating app is RateMyCigar. It’s loaded with a database of thousands of cigars, all you have to do is rate and inventory them. Recenly added Facebook and Twitter integration also allow for sharing info on your favorite smokes.
Cigars by Stoked (Android 2.0+)
Price: $3.99
Called ‘Stoked’ for short, this app has another huge database of cigars, which the makers say gets updated every week. You can also manage your humidor inventory, rate cigars, review them and share with your friends on social networks. The company that makes this app for Android also has several other apps that help you find cigar-friendly smoking spots in various cities around the country. If I had an Android, I’d definitely be downloading the NYC Cigar Smokers Guide for just 99 cents.
CigarObsession
Price: Free
You can’t go wrong with free. CigarObsession is the app based on the popular cigar blog of the same name. This program brings you the latest from their cigar review site, rich with videos. Like the other apps on this list, it is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter as well.
